Grows beautifully across the US in USDA Zones 3–11. Plant in full sun (at least 6-8 hours daily) for the best blooming. Lilacs require well-draining soil and prefer a neutral to slightly alkaline pH (6.5 to 7.0).
Sowing Method (Stratification)
Cold Stratification Required: Lilac seeds need a cold chilling period to break dormancy. Mix seeds with a damp paper towel or lightly moist sand inside a sealed plastic bag and refrigerate for 30–60 days.
Planting: After stratification, sow 1/4" deep in pots filled with seed-starting mix. Keep soil consistently moist until germination.

Once moved to a warm location (60-70°F or 15-21°C), germination typically occurs within 14-30 days. Maintain consistent moisture and bright, indirect light as the seedlings develop.
Plant Spacing & Care
