This stunning Western North American perennial features slender blue-green sword leaves and beautiful pale to deep blue-violet flowers with yellow-white signals and striking purple veins. Blooming from May to July, the Malan Iris naturally thrives in wet meadows, marshes, and stream banks, making its robust root system exceptional for stabilizing riparian soils. Once established, however, it becomes incredibly drought-tolerant and easy to maintain.

Hardy in USDA zones 2–9. Naturally found in wet meadows, stream banks, and moist soils. Their vigorous root systems are exceptionally good at helping stabilize riparian (riverbank) soils.
Sowing Method
After the 24-hour soak, sow the seeds in well-drained, loose soil. Cover them with only a very light layer of fine earth. Maintain consistent soil moisture during the entire germination period, being careful to avoid completely waterlogging the soil.

Optimum Sowing Temperature: 15°C to 20°C (59°F to 68°F).
Place the planting area in full sun (though they can tolerate part shade).
