USDA Zones 3–11. Grow pole beans on sturdy trellises, poles, or mesh fencing. Pole bean variety; requires sturdy trellising.
Direct Seeding Method
Sow seeds 1" deep, spaced 3" apart in rows 3–4' apart (or adjusted for optimized field spacing) after soil temperature exceeds 60°F (16°C). If using poles, plant 4-6 seeds at the base of each pole. Inoculants can increase yields.

Optimum Range: Soil temperature should exceed 60°F (16°C), with ideal germination temperatures ranging between 70–85°F.
Insect Pests & Disease
Mexican bean beetles, pod borers, and aphids can be controlled with organic insecticides such as pyrethrin or azadirachtin. Plow under or remove and compost bean straw in the fall to hasten destruction of disease organisms. Practice a 3-year crop rotation.
Harvest & Storage
Harvest regularly to encourage new pod set. Store at 40°F (5°C) and 90% relative humidity for 7–10 days.
