Grows beautifully across the US in USDA Zones 3–11 as a warm-season annual. Plant in full sun. Morning glories actually prefer moderately poor, well-draining soil. Avoid overly rich soil or heavy fertilization, which will produce lush foliage but very few flowers. They are sensitive to frost, so wait until weather has warmed.
Sowing Method
Seed Prep (Scarification): For best results, nick the hard seed coat with a file and soak seeds in warm water for 24 hours before planting.
Direct Seed (Recommended): Sow 1/2" deep after all danger of frost has passed.
Transplant: Start in biodegradable pots 4-6 weeks before last frost to avoid root disturbance.
Temperatures & Germination
